Congratulations Robert Allan, Ph.D., LPC, LMFT Certified E.F.T Trainer

Please join us in welcoming Robert Allan, Certified, EFT Trainer !

Robert is an Assistant Professor in the couple and family track of the graduate counseling program at the University of Colorado Denver. He maintains a private practice in Denver where he works with individuals, couples and families and also offers supervision. Robert started his EFT journey in Halifax, Nova Scotia a number of years ago and has worked extensively with Gail Palmer and since moving to Denver four years ago has also been mentored by Jim Thomas.

Robert researches the practical application of Emotionally Focused Therapy across diverse populations. He has published in peer reviewed journals and presents regularly at scientific conferences on the process and efficacy of EFT for couples. He has been involved in trainings in Canada, England, Scotland, and now the US; and is keen to work with counselors and therapists as they integrate EFT into their practices.

As an EFT trainer and drawing on his long history of community-development work, Robert has a strong interest in continuing the growth of EFT in Colorado and the surrounding areas. Colorado now has some of the most vibrant and engaged EFT communities in the world. There are so many talented EFT clinicians and supervisors in Colorado and Jim Thomas is increasingly recognized globally as a well-respected trainer. “I feel privileged on so many levels to be part of the communities in this area and begin to add to what so many people have built in Colorado”.

As a trainer, much like the EFT model itself, Robert believes that trainers are always organizing the material in a way that makes sense for participants and allows them to integrate EFT into their practice. Robert draws on a range of experiential and practice oriented exercises as well as the latest information and video demonstrations to offer a variety of entries into the practice of EFT. “Clinicians use a variety of ways of knowing in their practice so I use them in my training!”.
