Trainings he facilitates.

Jim Thomas LMFTYour Trainer:  Jim Thomas, M.A.  “I would go out of my way to attend a training on E.F.T. led by Jim, he creates an engaging, powerful learning environment.”  Jonathan Zalesne, Fort Collins (trainer subject to change – ICEEFT Certified Trainers lead the training).

The EFT Externship provides a powerful paradigm and model for helping couples and relationships.  Research indicates it is likely to help you improve your own compassion for others and strengthen relationships in your own life.  Imagine improving your therapy skill, having more success in treating couples and families, earning CEU’s AND getting happier in your own life all at the same time.  We know from recent research (Levenson and Sandberg, 2010) attending an EFT Externship can do just that. This is the EFT Externship developed by Dr. Sue Johnson and other EFT Trainers over the past 16 years.

“I thoroughly enjoyed this training.  It had a significant impact both on my work and on me personally.  I highly recommend this to anyone who works with couples, families or individuals.”  – Cindy Wander, LPC, LMFT

**This training is approved for 28 Continuing Education Units, International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy, ICEEFT** In order to receive all 28 units, you must sign in and out every day, and attend all four days.

This program has been approved by NBCC for NBCC Credit.  The Colorado Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy is solely responsible for all aspects of this program.  NBCC Approval No. SP-2151-Renewed

Research Evidence Grows:  Adding to 26 outcome studies, a recently published MRI study lead by Jim Coan, Ph.D., neuroscientist, showed dramatic results in the form of changes to the brain’s response to threat in couples who completed Emotionally Focused Therapy (Soothing The Threatened Brain: An fMRI study, 2013, PLoS One).  With the publication of Sue Johnson’s latest book, Love Sense, on December 31st, and with research such as described above, E.F.T. continues to provide an attachment-based approach to working with relational distress.  E.F.T. is  based on how we are wired as relational beings. Come join us in exploring this evidenced-based model, the fastest growing approach to couples therapy in the world (Hold Me Tight, by Dr. Johnson, has been published now in 19 languages around the world).

“Jim is an engaging facilitator who know this material in his bones. This training deepened my work with couples and gave me added confidence to deal with the most difficult, reactive relationships in session.  E.F.T. gave me a road map and a compass.  It has made a huge difference in my work,”  – Ed Chase, LPC, Owner, Affordable Counseling Connections
