About Therapy Intensives

Therapy intensives are 2 to 3 day therapy immersions primarily based in Emotionally Focused Therapy.

Jim Thomas, LMFT, EFT Therapist, Supervisor and Trainer, first began providing therapy intensives in 2010 at the request of couples for more in-depth work.

Nationally known for this work, couples, individuals and families come from around Colorado, the U.S., Canada and beyond for these highly regarded experiences.  One couple, individual or family at a time – opening hearts, healing, and growing stronger together.

About Colorado EFT

Colorado has a vibrant EFT Community and a high number of ICEEFT Certified EFT Therapists.

Jim Thomas founded the original Colorado EFT Center and helped foster the EFT Community growth with fellow trainer Dr, Lisa Palmer-Olsen, San Diego, CA starting in 2009.

Jim stepped back from training in Colorado to focus on therapy intensives and to bringing attachment theory to recovery and treatment programs addressing trauma, addiction and shame.

In therapy and training, we welcome and seek to serve couples and families of diverse forms, across cultures, and across economic, religious and other social groups.

What is EFT?

Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples is the fastest growing evidenced-based approach to treating relational distress in couples in the world. Developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, EFT provides a well researched road map for helping couples grow closer and resolve relational problems. The model is based on the science of emotions, attachment theory, humanistic psychology and family systems theory. EFT helps couples move from distress in their relationship to a safer, more fulfilling relationship.
